SENIOR BUYER

The HVAC industry is an exciting industry that impacts energy usage on a global scale. Multistack is the leading HVAC manufacturer and creator of modular chiller systems. We are seeking a Senior Buyer to join our team!

This role will manage inventory, purchasing activities, planning, forecasting, receiving and meeting the overall supply demands of the production facility.  The position reports to the Operation Manager.  The position requires a continuous evaluation and adjustment of priorities and duties based on production needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinates purchasing activities with manufacturing and engineering departments to acquire inventory in a cost effective and timely manner.
  • Directly supports all the departments by obtaining materials and supplies needed.
  • Monitors the cost, schedule and scope of vendors and suppliers to assure the highest quality at the best price.
  • Manage vendor pricing.  Negotiate appropriate contracts for pricing and supply.
  • Manage delivery, quality performance, cost, and customer satisfaction for established vendors.
  • Resolve billing and shipping problems and provide information to suppliers.
  • Update minimum order quantities, lead-times and other pertinent information.
  • Work with team members to develop future purchasing plans.
  • Identify and approve potential vendors and suppliers for future project needs.
  • Develop purchasing policies and procedures and obtain approval for new policies.
  • Act as the liaison with accounting to ensure ERP system requirements are achieved and vendors are paid in a timely manner.

Qualifications:

  • Solid knowledge and understanding of purchasing processes, policy, and systems.
  • A minimum of 5 years related experience as purchasing officer, manager, or related position.
  • Proficient computer skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to negotiate, establish, and process contracts.
  • Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently.
  • Strong organizational skills.
